My Blog
Good grief! This must have been the week for news about raw food.
It's been lacking the past few weeks due to tomatoes and jalepenos dominating the news.
But if you want to keep tabs on how raw food is perceived in the mainstream, check these out:

Today marks the release date for "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Eating Raw"!
I haven't received my copy yet, but it looks to be a very valuable resource.
Also, I had a very informative and enjoyable interview of the authors Mark Reinfeld and Jennifer Murray. You'll definitely want to check it out at The Complete Idiot's Guide to Eating Raw.
Let me know what you think of the interview and/or their new book -- leave a comment below!
Was the interview useful or helpful for you?
Have a fun & safe 4th of July...

Here's what we had and how it fared:
Live Nachos I thought these were very good. Although just an appetizer, there was plenty for the three of us to enjoy. The cashew sour cream really made it special, since I haven't had sour cream in so long. I couldn't really make out the cashew cheese though. The chips themselves were very tasty, with just the right amount of spicy kick to them.
Live Wrap This actually came with two wraps, just the right size for perfect bites. The cashew sour cream on the side was again a treat, and really added to and complemented the wrap well. The cilantro lime pâté added a unique zest and zing to each bite.
Sizzlin' Stir Fry My son ordered the Sizzlin' Stir Fry on quinoa. It's not raw, and I didn't try any, but he really seemed to like it.
Live Sampler Platter This was a good overall sampling of a variety of things. It includes Eden Salad, Pad Thai, Live Pizza, cilantro lime pâté, flax crackers, avocado, cucumber, and tomato. Everything was tasty, but I was really impressed by the live pizza. Its crust was thicker and not as nutty as other live pizzas I've had, which was a refreshing change. It was also the first live pizza I've had with pineapple as a topping. (Perhaps that's the influence of their Hawaiian origin.) Overall it created a unique flavor experience.
I can never leave a new raw food restaurant without trying the dessert. We had live fudge and live pecan pie. The live fudge was served cold, and does it ever melt delectably in your mouth! Wow. The live pecan pie was very gooey and all delicious. Tempting desserts like these are the most dangerous part of eating raw!
The folks behind this restaurant are the same ones who made the Vegan Fusion World Cuisine book, as well as the upcoming new book The Complete Idiot's Guide to Eating Raw, which will be out this July.

I love it when raw food shows up in the mainstream news!
It just goes to show that awareness is building continually.
This article is about a woman, Tanya Ortiz, who has had success with a vegan raw food diet. She then became a certified instructor, and is now teaching others how to benefit from and succeed with raw food.
